Visit a Pumpkin Patch
What’s more iconic in October than visiting a pumpkin patch? We have so many great options in and near Atlanta, but Burts Farm is always a classic! I also love Jaemor Farms, Sleepy Hollow Farms, Uncle Shucks Corn Maze, just to name a few others.
Go Apple Picking
Going up to North Georgia for apple picking is a great outing for adults and kids alike! Some great options for apple picking are B.J. Reece Orchards, Mercier Orchards, Hillcrest Orchards and R and A Orchards. Check out information on admission fees and bag pricing, listed on their websites! No matter where you go, it’s always such a fun activity and the apples are delicious.
See Gorgeous Sunflowers
Head out to Fausett Farms in Dawsonville, GA, about an hour north of Atlanta, for the most beautiful sunflowers! Their Sunflower Farm makes for a great photo backdrop and is a fun addition to any fall plans up north. Admission is $6 per person, and $35 for photographers charging clients for sessions. Right now, their second field is set to bloom around October 5 – but check their website for the latest on opening days!
Explore a Haunted House (We have one of the best in the world nearby!)
Did you know one of the top haunted houses in the world is located just 30 minutes outside Atlanta? Netherworld is officially open for the 2024 season with 2 haunted houses, 5 escape rooms, a monster museum, roaming creatures, spooky photo ops, drinks, snacks & more!

The fall activities are in full swing, and if you’re looking for something fun to do with the whole family, Callaway Gardens has got you covered! Pumpkins at Callaway in Pine Mountain, GA runs Thursday through Sunday now through November 2, and this event is packed with so many amazing things to do. During the day, you can explore fields of sunflowers, corn mazes, giant pumpkins, and more. At night, discover a whimsical wonderland of glow of the NEW Harvest Sky and returning Foggy Hollow!
Experience Fall at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens
ATL Botanical Gardens always goes big for fall, and they have the most beautiful pumpkin displays in Atlanta!
Scarecrows in the Garden is back for its 22nd year, so head over there before November 3 to catch this beloved exhibit! Walk around the garden & spot the spooky, silly scarecrows made by children, artists, nonprofits, corporate companies and more.
Adults can’t miss Fest-of-Ale, which features drink stations, live music & more, happening every Thursday through Saturday now through the end of the month. It’s the perfect fall date night!
Attend a Fall Festival
Candler Park Fall Fest: Don’t miss the Candler Park Fall Fest on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6 from 11am-7pm. The event will include an artist market, food trucks, live music, a children’s area, 5K and more!
Little 5 Halloween Festival & Parade: The iconic Little 5 Points Halloween Festival & Parade returns on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20! This year’s festival will include an artist market, pumpkin smashing, wrestling, live bands, Halloweenville, and the Sunday parade, which starts at 2pm.
Westside Paper Fall Fest: Westside Paper is hosting a fall fest on Sunday, October 20 from 2-6pm along the Atlanta Beltline Spur Trail! The event will feature live music, delicious food, drinks, and family-friendly activities. Join in on a fun 3-part challenge that includes pancake decorating, face painting, and yard games!
Chomp & Stomp: Cabbagetown Chomp and Stomp is an annual chili cook-off and bluegrass festival, attracting thousands of people every year, and this year it’s happening on Saturday, November 2. Treat your taste buds to an array of mouth-watering chili options, roam through the art and vendor market, and vibe to live music.
