Its officially the most wonderful time of the year! And while Atlanta may not bring us a white Christmas, we certainly still have many holiday activities to look forward to. Last year I shared an article on Christmas lights in Atlanta, and this year I am sharing the best places to go ice skating! So grab your friends, kids or special someone and show off your skating skills this holiday season.
Skate the Sky on The Roof at Ponce City Market
First the first time ever, The Roof at Ponce City Market has transformed its private event space into an ice skating rink! It’s hard to beat these views…
Skate the Sky admission includes 50 minutes of skating and skate rentals. There are also seasonal food & beverages (kid-friendly and adult) available for purchase! Skate the Sky is all ages except for after 5 pm on Fridays and Saturdays when the entire roof is 21+.
The rink is open now through February 14, 2018. Click here for more information on hours, tickets and more.
SKATE Atlantic Station
Atlantic Station is filled with magical events during the holiday season. From Santa’s Cottage to Snow Shows and the Christkindl Market, there are so many ways to get in the holiday spirit.
And while each event is amazing, one of my personal favorites is SKATE, the ice rink. Atlantic Station’s ice rink is 10,000 square feet, making it the largest outdoor skating rink in the southeast!
The rink is open now through January 26, 2018. Click here for information on hours, tickets and more.
Aquafina Rink at Park Tavern
Each year Park Tavern’s Garden Tent is transformed into a holiday oasis with the addition of the Aquafina Rink, holiday decorations and more. And with its heated tent, guests can enjoy the rink no matter how cold it gets outside!
Park Tavern also offers homemade hot chocolate and seasonal cocktails. And don’t forget to cook s’mores over the fire pits!
The rink is open now through February 19, 2018. Click here for information on hours, tickets and more.
Astor Holiday Ice Rink at The St. Regis Atlanta
The Astor Holiday Ice Rink at The St. Regis Atlanta in Buckhead is back for its eighth year! Guests will feel like they’ve been transported to a winter wonderland with its gorgeous white tent, holiday lights and decor.
And to accompany the skating, The St. Regis plays holiday tunes and serves holiday treats like hot cocoa, s’mores and more! A full food and beverage menu is available, too.
The rink is open now through December 31, 2017. Click here for information on hours, tickets and more.
Avalon on Ice
Ever since visiting Avalon during my Alpharetta Instagram Takeover I have been a little bit obsessed! And as if Avalon wasn’t already amazing at all times of the year, the holiday season truly takes it to the next level.
Avalon’s holiday experiences include precious moments with Santa, a beautiful Christmas tree and ice skating- of course! Avalon’s Rockefeller Center-inspired ice skating rink is certainly a can’t-miss this season.
The rink is open now through January 21, 2018. Click here for information on hours, tickets and more.
SKATE at the Battery Atlanta
With the Braves stadium moving up north this year, the Battery Atlanta has become a must-see destination. So it’s no surprise it will also have an ice skating rink.
So do some shopping, grab a bite to eat at one of the many delicious restaurants and then stop by the ice rink to get a quick skate in!
The rink is open now through January 14, 2018. Click here for more information on hours, tickets and more.
Winter Wonderland at Marietta Square
Last but certainly not least is Winter Wonderland at Marietta Square! 2015 was Marietta’s first Winter Wonderland and I am so excited that they have decided to bring it back again this year!
Get ready for ice skating at Glover Park and bigger-than-ever viewing areas. Plus, Santa will be making a special appearance!
The rink is open now through January 7, 2018. Click here for information on hours, tickets and more.
Are you going to check out any of these ice skating spots this year? Have you visited any in the past? Let me know in the comments!
Happy Holidays, Atlanta!
