With Labor Day weekend upon us, it’s sinking in that summer is coming to an end. Summer is always the season of rosé, but summer 2016 took things to the next level with a frozen version of our favorite flirty wine: frosé.
Frosé is refreshing, sweet and of course boozy. And lucky for us, a few Atlanta restaurants and bars are putting their own spin on this trendy cocktail. Curious where you can get your hands on some frosé in Atlanta? Look no further.
The Luminary is a French American Brasserie located in Krog Street Market. It’s menu changes from season to season, but you can always count on delicious food. And the raw bar is awesome!
And of course, The Luminary has frosé! They freeze rosé, Aperol, lemon juice and simple syrup in a pan, create a “granita” (or slushie), scoop the mixture into a glass and then serve it with sparkling rosé on top! The presentation is gorgeous and the drink tastes delicious. I think the Aperol gives it a unique (and tasty!) flavor.
And be sure to take advantage of The Luminary’s 1/2 off cocktails special on Tuesdays to get your frosé at half the price!
The Establishment was the first frosé I ever tried– and it’s what inspired me to write this article! One sip and the cocktail stole my heart.
The Establishment is located in Midtown Atlanta. It has a laid-back, rustic vibe and the cocktails are incredible. The Establishment makes its frosé in a 7-Eleven-style slurpee machine by mixing pinot noir, rosé, strawberries and lemon. The strawberries give it a sweet kick.
Last but not least- The Ivy. If you’re a 20-30 year old living in Buckhead, you’ve definitely been to The Ivy. But for those of you who haven’t heard of it before, The Ivy is fun bar and – fun fact – the building it is located in used to be a mansion!
The Ivy clearly has a thing for rosé. Earlier this summer The Ivy hosted a “Rosé All Day” party featuring White Girl Rosé and The Fat Jewish. And now they serve their very own frosé. It’s similar to the Establishment’s method of frosé by mixing together rosé, strawberries and more into a slurpee machine. The frosé is only available on the outside gazebo, but who wouldn’t want to be outside drinking this frozen cocktail anyway?!
Have you tried any of these frosé cocktails yet? Have you made your own frosé? Let me know in the comments!
