As a Buckhead resident, I was heartbroken when I heard the Establishment was moving to Midtown. But after visiting the new Midtown location I think moving was the best thing that could have happened to this rustic restaurant and bar.
I had always thought of the Establishment as more of a bar than a restaurant, but after tasting a few menu items my mind completely changed. Now don’t get me wrong: The bar is KILLER. And it’s still probably my favorite aspect of this spot. But the food keeps up and is definitely worth trying.
I got my first glimpse of the menu when I stopped by to taste the Establishment’s famous frosé. (Which if you haven’t tried it yet please stop reading this blog post immediately and drive- or run or bike or Marta… whatever it takes!!- to the Establishment to treat yourself to this frozen deliciousness. You can thank me later.) And while I had just come from dinner, I couldn’t help but take a quick peek at the menu. And after seeing “baked goat cheese mac,” I had already made a mental note to come back to taste some grub.
After a week of dreaming about the baked goat cheese mac I finally made it back to the Establishment. And while the frosé was incredible, I decided to switch things up this time and order the Peachtree Cooler, a mix of peach vodka, lemon juice, peach shrub, agave nectar, ginger lemon tincture and fresh mint. Amazing. And to complement my drink, I ordered the Cheese & Meat Monger, a delicious meat and cheese board!
Next up was the grilled buffalo shrimp and…. (drum roll please)… the baked goat cheese mac! The mac and cheese was so gooey and cheesy– basically everything I could have dreamed of. And the shrimp was spicy and flavorful. I would definitely order both of these items again.
I sat on the outdoor patio, which is one of my favorite patios in Midtown! And by the time I finished up my dinner, the Establishment was packed– in a good way. Tons of people having a great time and enjoying delicious cocktails!
So congrats Establishment! I’m loving your Midtown space. (And that means a lot coming from a Buckhead girl!)
