There are so many reasons to love summer: modified work hours, vacations, sunshine and more. But with all of the good, there is always some bad. And in Atlanta the bad is definitely the summer heat.

I feel like I can’t walk from my car to my office building without breaking a sweat, so I’m always looking for a cool drink or frozen treat to cool me down. Lucky for me, I discovered Davio’s best secret menu item: boozy granitas!

Davio’s is a delicious steakhouse at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, but they have so much more than just steak. They serve delicious wines, fish, pasta and more. And best of all– these granitas.

The granitas are a mix between a cocktail and a dessert. (My two favorite things!) It tastes like fruity, boozy shaved ice. They’re sweet, but not overwhelmingly so– A perfect after dinner or happy hour treat!

The granitas come in three different flavors:

• Strawberry Lime Tequila
• Peach Schnapps
• Amaretto Cherry with Southern Comfort

Each was amazing, but the peach schnapps was definitely my favorite! And I was even more excited to find out they are only $6! Delicious and affordable. And don’t forget- they’re not actually on the menu, so you’ll have to ask for them by name.

Davio’s has a great patio to enjoy these boozy treats on. And if you’re trying to decide when to go, I would definitely suggest checking out happy hour! Every Monday through Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm, Davio’s offers half off appetizers at the bar and on the patio!
