I have a confession: I’m obsessed with wine. Red, white, rose, sparkling… I love it all. So whenever I find out about a wine tasting event near Atlanta I need to check it out.
Last week I ventured up to Marietta for Stem Wine Bar’s wine tasting. (They do them weekly!) I had heard raving reviews about both Stem and it’s sister restaurant Seed Kitchen & Bar, so I figured wine was as good a reason as any to finally make the trip!
Each wine tasting event has a theme, and since the class I took was in July we celebrated America’s birthday month with all American wines.
Each attendee took a seat around the wine bar and was given two glasses and a tasting menu. The class consisted of three different two pour wine flights– so six wines in total– with a small bite paired with each wine.
We started with light whites and made our way up to bold reds. I’m slightly partial to reds, but my favorite wine from the entire tasting was a white from Patricia Green Cellars in Willamette Valley. (I may have driven to the liquor store directly after the class to pick up a bottle to keep at home!) And each bite was more delicious than the last! We tasted everything from scallop ceviche to charcuterie to pork belly.
I had such a fun time at Stem’s wine tasting and can’t wait to come back! And best of all? It was only $40! A pretty awesome deal for six wines and six bites. If you’re in the Marietta area (or are just looking for a fun weekday activity!) I definitely recommend checking out Stem Wine Bar’s schedule to see when you can try it out yourself!
