When it comes to quick and casual, yet high-quality food, nothing beats Gusto!
The word “gusto” means “passion,” and the guys at Gusto! make providing fresh, fast food to all of us their passion. And you can feel that the passion is genuine from the moment you walk in the doors.
The menu is a simple three-step process: choose your style (mixed greens, brown rice or flatbread wrap), choose your protein (chicken, portabella or shrimp) and last- but certainly not least- choose your gusto (which are the different mix-in ingredients). I couldn’t decide between the “Tahini Cucumber Feta,” “Sweet Soy Sriracha” and “Chipotle Mango Avocado,” which just so happen to be their top sellers, so I decided to sample all three! *Insider tip: Ask for half rice and half greens!
After about a minute, my food was ready. They are that fast! And each bowl was delicious in its own way. The Tahini Cucumber Feta was light and fresh, the Sweet Soy Sriracha was bursting with flavor and the Chipotle Mango Avocado was reminiscent of a burrito bowl. I seriously could have licked each one clean.
But I had to save some room for dessert! Gusto has incredible frozen yogurt. Did somebody say salted caramel?! Oh and you better order a lemon zest infused sugar cookie, because it would be a sin to miss out on dipping it in your froyo.
It’s safe to say I left Gusto! feeling stuffed. But luckily each of the ingredients is fresh and healthy, so it wasn’t one of those gross full feelings. There is no doubt in my mind that I will quickly become a regular here.
Right now, Gusto is located on Peachtree Road by Piedmont Hospital. But keep a lookout for its new location right across the street from Ponce City Market!
And fun fact: Gusto’s founder, Nate Hybl, is a former NFL quarterback!
